Shannon McNevan — CoFounder of Canada's Largest Country Music Festival – BOOTS & HEARTS!
After graduating from Bowdoin College on a hockey scholarship, Shannon spent five years in Germany where he resuscitated a professional hockey franchise from the brink of bankruptcy to becoming one of only three teams in the country to turn a profit consistently from 2007-2010. He quickly established himself as an industry leading general manager, and during the 2009-10 season was managing three separate professional hockey teams including the Cologne Sharks, which is one of the top five franchises in the world outside the NHL. In 2011, Shannon co-founded a live-music production company called Republic Live Inc. In August 2012, they hosted the first annual Boots and Hearts Music Festival, which boasted the most prolific country music line-up in Canadian history including Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Kid Rock, Lionel Richie, Sheryl Crow, Alabama, Paul Brandt, many more. Over 65,000 people attended the festival over the course of the inaugural event and Boots and Hearts continues with unprecedented growth selling out before the gates opened for the 2013 event, which included headliners Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, The Band Perry and Dean Brody. -
Dr. Jay W. Richards — Author of INFILTRATED: How To Stop The Insiders & Activists Who Are Exploiting The Financial Crisis To Control Our Lives & Our Fortunes
It's been five years since the 2008 financial crisis and New York Times best-selling author of Indivisible and Money, Greed and God wants to know who is reforming the reformers. In his new book, INFILTRATED, Jay Richards (Ph.D. in Philosophy and Theology, Princeton Theological Seminary) casts a wide net to capture the true causes of the crisis that began in earnest in September 2008, as well as solutions to prevent another meltdown. The book is part socioeconomic analysis and part examination of the continuing debate over who is to blame for the crisis and who is still trying to gain from it.

Mr. Bennett — Recording Artist
“He’s clearly a born storyteller attracted to the metre and syntax of an ancient oral tradition. By which I mean a species of 70’s songwriting that’s two parts the lived-in romanticism of Tom Waits circa ‘Closing Time’, one part obtuse Dylan-esque symbolism, and one part acerbic narrative a la Randy Newman. These tales of the hapless and the absurd are perfectly delivered through his lugubrious, gravely drawl, and when he assures us after abandoning one song that “it’s ok to give up”, these are not the sentiments of a callow slacker but the hard-won wisdom of a seasoned quitter”

Samantha Field
“An ongoing journey in overcoming a fundamentalist indoctrination.” Born a military brat, Samantha spent her early childhood traveling until her family eventually settled into a tiny, rural town in the American Deep South. That was where they joined an Independent Fundamental Baptist church and she started learning things like how telling a lie is basically like being a murderer or rapist and that she wasn't really supposed to go to college (although she did anyway). Samantha spent almost three years of her adult life as a closet agnostic (more from apathy, than from skepticism) before eventually finding her way back to God-- but not, necessarily, the church. She's a liberal now-- politically, philosophically, theologically-- and a feminist, which she's absolutely positive would horrify the 16-year-old Samantha!
Talkback, etc.
