Donovan Woods — Recording Artist
Coming off the heels of a busy Canadian Music Week here in Toronto, Donovan Woods joins us in studio. With a voice as notable as his lyrics, this piercingly honest recording artist with a dry, self-deprecating humor, has turned into quite the hot commodity. From Toronto to Nashville, Woods has also carved out a niche for himself as a busy songwriter for TV and film. His music has appeared on television shows like “Felicity,” “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” ABC’s “My Generation,” and the Matthew Perry film “Numb”. He's also co-written songs with the likes of Grammy Award winner Marcus Hummon and One Flew South’s Chris Roberts. Donovan's work has been featured on CBC Radio where he’s in regular rotation across the country and he recently completed a tour of Canada and England. -

Angie Schuller Wyatt — Author Of God and Boobs: Balancing Faith and Sexuality
(And yes...Dr. Robert Schuller's Granddaughter)
Angie Schuller Wyatt, eldest grandchild of the Crystal Cathedral’s Dr. Robert H. Schuller, grew up in one of the world’s most famous religious dynasties. Reared in the shadows of powerful men, she struggled to define her own faith and femininity. Angie wrestled with tough questions including: Why does religion strive to suppress women’s sexuality? And does loving God mean living with shame? Angie eventually forged her own path in ministry as a pastor, counselor and spiritual director, without relying on nepotism. Succeeding as a woman in a male-dominated industry, she worked at some of the largest ministries in the nation and has taken her message of faith and femininity to over 20 countries. Funny, educated and experienced, Angie pairs her personal experiences with the stories of women she has counseled over the years. The result is a provocative look at what it really means to have faith and femininity in today’s modern world. She helps women learn how to: Have Faith and Femininity / Live Sexy, Strong and Self-Aware / Feel Sensual without Shame / Break Free from Religious Constrains / Enjoy the Faith that Your Mom Never Told You About / Find True Love in Today’s “Sex Sells” World! -

Les Ferguson Jr. — “Desperately Wanting to Believe Again: From ashes to new life, this is my journey back to a thriving and growing faith…”
Les was a pastor who had to endure the horror of finding out that his handicapped child had been systematically raped by an older man from his church. This man had volunteered to hang out with their son (watching movies & playing video games) so Les and his wife invited him to live with the family. Then, after being arrested then released on bail, this man came back to the house and killed his son and wife. “Have you ever wanted to curse God? Or maybe shake your fist at Him? Have you ever had questions and no answers that were worth a plugged nickel? Have you ever felt like or been made to feel like something was wrong with you because you doubted, questioned, and didn’t understand? Yeah… Me too. Those are the kinds of things we will be wrestling with at Desperately Wanting To Believe Again. My name is Les Ferguson, Jr. I am a used-to-be preacher turned real estate associate. I struggle with faith. I desperately want the kind of hope, faith, and trust needed after a real life Job experience.”

The Counsel of Many
This week on the Counsel Of Many: A husband is wondering if there's such a thing as putting too much focus on the kids, because it seems as though being kid focused has ruined he and his wife's sex life.
“My wife and I have been married for 15 years. We have two great kids and we focus on them a lot. My therapist says that we are a 'child-focused couple' and that we have lost our couple focus. We have no sex life at all and haven't for about 2 years and prior to that it was intermittent anyway. I don't do porn or anything like that. Lust is not a major issue for me. I have given up pursuing my wife and she is okay with that. I would like to have a sex life but I don't know how to start things up again. Do you think that putting too much attention on our kids has killed our sex life? I mean, is there such a thing as 'too much' when it comes to your kids? Isn't that want God wants us to do? Aren't we supposed to lay our lives down for them? And is it just us or do all couples stop having sex when they have kids? Is it normal to stop having sex after you have kids? Do you think my therapist is right – that our focus on our kids is interfering with our sex life?” -

Do you think soulSURVIVOR is a good idea or... not so much?
We've received some complaints from people who aren't too happy with soulSURVIVOR. Some say that since our show is being aired on a “Christian Radio Station,” we shouldn't be giving other “false religions” a platform to “spread their lies.” So we want to give you a chance to tell us exactly what you think. Should a Christian radio station allow people from other religions, to share their beliefs? Would it be better if we at least “challenged” them on their beliefs and made sure that we “shared Jesus” with them? After all, what if some of the listeners decide that they're more interested in being a Muslim, or a Mormon – or worse yet... what if someone starts doing YOGA??
