Eric Metaxas — New York Times Best Selling Author of Seven Women: And the Secret of Their Greatness
New York Times bestselling author Eric Metaxas details the lives of seven of history’s greatest women in his new book, Seven Women. The enthusiastic response to Metaxas’s previous book, Seven Men, confirmed his belief “that there is a great hunger for heroes in our culture”. Here he presents captivating portraits of women who changed the course of history by following God’s call upon their lives: Joan of Arc, Susanna Wesley, Hannah Moore, Marie Skobtsova, Corrie ten Boom, Mother Teresa, and Rosa Parks. Metaxas reveals how these extraordinary women achieved their greatness, inspiring readers to lives shaped by the truth of the gospel and “to see yourself and your own time and world all the more clearly”. These remarkable women have left their mark on history and on the church, Metaxas shows. Some of their lives may have been messy or complicated, just like ours. “When I consider the seven women I chose, I see that most of them were great for reasons that derive precisely from their being women, not in spite of it.” Metaxas says. “What made them great has nothing to do with their being measured against or competing with men. In other words, their accomplishments are not gender-neutral but are rooted in their singularity as women. All of them existed and thrived as women.”
*Eric Metaxas is the author of the New York Times #1 Bestseller, Bonhoeffer. His other New York Times bestsellers include Miracles and Amazing Grace. He is the host of the nationally syndicated radio program, “The Eric Metaxas Show.” His writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Atlantic, Washington Post, Books & Culture, Christianity Today, Mars Hill Review, and First Things. He is founder and host of Socrates in the City in New York City, where he lives with his wife and daughter.

With Grant Marshall (Drew's Dad)
We're losing a generation. A generation of respect, integrity and honour. A generation who were not afraid of hard work and sacrifice. Drew's father IS that generation. Growing up on the farm taught him more about life than Google. So maybe we should take the time to listen – before that generation is gone.

"I am in love with words. They can contain love and they can change people. They can shape our understanding, and they can be our weapon, or our guard. They grant us with humour, and self-reflection. Words are what give breath meaning, and they are one of the only things we have that will survive past our corporeal demise. Our words and our voices. Let us use both with sincerity, wisdom, passion, and creativity, and by that I mean love." ~ Orit Shimoni
