  • Paul Michael Glaser — Perchik from Fiddler On The Roof / Starsky from Starsky & Hutch
Something's Gotta Give, Ray Donovan, Numb3rs, Criminal Minds, The Closer, Faceless, Ladies Night, Third Watch, Total Cops, The Streets of San Francisco, The Sixth Sense, The Waltons, Kojak,  and "The Rockford Files" are a few things you may have seen him in. But playing Detective David Starsky is what got him his own “hunk poster” back in the 70's! Paul grew up with a Jewish father, a VERY Jewish grandfather and an agnostic mother. Today, Paul considers himself a "Jew-Bu" (Jewish-Buddhist). His wife Elizabeth, contracted HIV in a blood transfusion while giving birth in 1981. Their daughter, Ariel, became HIV-positive through breast milk and died of AIDS in 1988. The couple's next child, Jake, contracted HIV in utero. A Radio Host And A Preacher Walk Into A Book...

  • “Hurricane” Hazel McCallion — One of Canada's Longest Serving Mayors, Author of Hurricane Hazel: A Life With Purpose
Hurricane” Hazel McCallion Throughout her ground-breaking career in business and politics, Hurricane Hazel McCallion has seen it all. In 1978, she defeated a popular incumbent to win election as mayor of Mississauga, a rising city near Toronto that was, until then, a collection of towns, villages and farms. No one would have foreseen that the indomitable Hurricane Hazel would become so wildly popular that she would remain mayor until 2014, retiring at age 93. In her memoir, McCallion writes about her early years as the feisty mayor of a growing city; battles with politicians and business leaders; her love of hockey and abhorrence of on-ice violence; where the feminist movement misses its mark; and how she watched and dealt with her beloved husband's fall into the grip of Alzheimer's. Hazel's run as the leader of one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada has been nothing short of remarkable. The book is the story of Hazel's political, personal and business life, with all of its bumps and bruises along the way, as honest, bold and straightforward as the woman herself.

  • This Week's Recording Artist — Andria Simone
Andria Simone is... well she's... ummm... how can we say it? You know what? Here's what others are saying about this incredible Toronto talent:

"Andria is a big fan of R&B but unlike so many of her contemporaries, she thankfully doesn't resort to vocal histrionics to impress. Nor does she fancy glossy, overproduced music. In fact, there's a nice retro vibe to some of her songs, and by that I mean her love of classic soul and R&B arrangements really comes through.”
~ Errol Nazareth - CBC Radio's Big City Small World

“Like Serena Ryder, Alicia Keys, or Little Willie John, Andria Simone has one of those strong, distinctive voices, full of soul and character, that you know you're going to remember the minute you first hear it. Simone's also got the songs, the backing band (led by ace guitarist Adam Beer-Colacino), and the vocal attitude to cement that first impression. Just listen to "Show Me How to Love" or "Nothing Comes Easy" from her debut recording, and you'll know she's a new talent to watch. Did I mention the voice?”
~ Howard Druckman - Editor, Words + Music magazine

    1.  Last week, Reba Riley (Post Traumatic Church Syndrome) and William P Young (The Shack) discussed Brittany Maynard, the 29-year old woman who had brain cancer and ended up taking her life by doctor assisted suicide. Time magazine picked up Benjamin L. Now that Brittany's story has ended, what will be her legacy? What have we learned from Brittan's journey?

MIRACLES – some believe in them, some don't. Some think that a flower is a miracle, some think that a flower is a flower. So what is a “miracle”? Does God always have something to do with them? Have you ever encountered one? If you got the one you've been asking for, would that save your faith? Do you think that we have any influence on whether miracles happen or not?

Talkback, etc.
