  • Larry King — Broadcasting Legend, Author of TRUTH BE TOLD: Off the Record about Favorite Guests, Memorable Moments, Funniest Jokes, and a Half Century of Asking Questions
Growing up on the streets of Depression-era Brooklyn, the son of Russian immigrants, Larry Zeiger became known to millions as Emmy-award winner Larry King, host of CNN’s Larry King Live, the first worldwide phone-in television talk show and the longest running show with the same host in the same time slot on the same network in the history of television. Beamed live to 200 countries and territories around the world, King was a broadcaster for more than 50 years and interviewed the most compelling and influential people in the world—major political leaders and cultural luminaries, alike. Now, in his book TRUTH BE TOLD Larry reflects on how much the world has changed around him over the course of his fifty-year career, and shares inside stories on some of the most fascinating figures of our time. Larry is one of Drew’s most memorable guests over the years, primarily for answering the question: “Larry, are you afraid of dying?” with “You bet your ass I am!”

  • Colin Mochrie — Comedy Writer, Improv Artist, TV Personality
Star of Whose Line Is It Anyway, host of Canada’s Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader, Second City Alumni… blah blah blah. Google him! He’s kind of a big deal.

  • Jay Bakker — Son of Televangelists Jim & Tammy Faye Bakker
Jay Bakker is a 35 year old pastor who grew up witnessing both the good and bad of the church. His parents are Jim and Tammy Faye, ministers-turned-TV-hosts who helped start both the Trinity Broadcasting Network and the 700 Club in the 1970s, and later founded the PTL (Praise The Lord) Club. At the height of their popularity, they pastored the largest church in the country – until their lives were changed by one of the biggest scandals in American history. For the first time, Jay was exposed to the dark underbelly of religion; an experience that would stay with him to this day. He has appeared on Larry King Live and been featured in Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Time, The Economist, FHM and New York Magazine. With his father now out of prison and his mother having passed away of Cancer a few years ago, Jay joins us today to talk about his journey through one of the messiest lives any kid could go through and the restoration process with his father and mother.

  • Stafford Edwards
Stafford and his wife Michelle had four children – Rebekah, Naomi, Ethan, and Isaac. One day he got a call at work from a friend who told him that his youngest, Isaac, who was almost two at the time, was just taken to the hospital. Isaac had crawled into the reclining chair, somehow became trapped and suffocated. When Stafford arrived at the hospital he was told that his young boy had already passed away. Father’s Day isn’t easy for everyone. Today, Stafford and his wife will share their journey through grief and how they were able to cope with every parent’s nightmare.

Talkback, etc.

  • The Counsel Of Many!
Need Help or Advice On An Issue In Your Life?
Tell us your situation and Drew will ask the listeners of TDMS!

This week on the Counsel of Many:A dad and mom disagree on whether or not to teach their 10 year old son how to defend himself against the school bully.

"I’m sure many families go through this but we’re right in the middle of it! Our 10 year old son has been picked on by a bully in his school for a couple of years now. At first, the bully just used to tease him verbally. Obviously this really bothered our son but my wife and I decided that we would teach him to just ignore it. Over the past few months things have escalated and we’ve since found out that this bully has been pushing our son around physically. I want this to be resolved before the end of the school year, primarily because this bully lives in our neighbourhood and I don’t want my son to have to be afraid of running into him during the summer break. I’d also like him to be able to go back to school in September with a renewed confidence. My wife just thinks we should tell the school and let them deal with the bully. I strongly disagree and think that will only exacerbate the issue and possibly get our son into further trouble with this kid. I told her that I want to teach our son how to defend himself and maybe even sign him up for some Karate or Judo classes. My wife actually got angry about that and said that she doesn’t want to have a son who fights back physically. She wants a “peacemaker” and wants to instead train him to diffuse confrontations with words not fists. My suggestion is to do BOTH, but she’s not having any of it! She also thinks that our pastor has taught that Karate and martial arts in general has Eastern evil influences in it. You know what I think? I think my kid is gonna get his butt kicked around the block until he learns to stand up for himself – PHYSICALLY! Am I wrong? Advice? I’d like to hear from other fathers as well as other mothers."

  • TDMS Realtor Network
This is the hottest time of the year in Real Estate. Many of you are about to buy or sell a home. Our Father’s Day gift to all the father’s out there (okay moms, you can listen too) is to interview three of the GTA’s most trusted realtors:

  • Should circumcision be illegal?
The good folks in San Francisco will have the chance in November to vote on whether or not to outlaw circumcision of male children. There would be no religious exemption and a violation of the law would be punishable with fines up to $1,000 or one year in jail. The story gained momentum when actor Russell Crowe Tweeted: "Circumcision is barbaric and stupid. Who are you to correct nature? Is it real that GOD requires a donation of foreskin? Babies are perfect.” Do you agree with Crowe or Religion?

  • TDMS Banter
The beginning and the end of the show is like any good sandwich. The stuff in the middle is what it's all about - The rest is just crust! Sometimes it's worth listening to. Sometimes - not so much.
