Special Guests

  • David Ellefson — Founding Member of Grammy-nominated MEGADEATH
Megadeth’s history reads like a how-to manual of excess of all kinds. If you’re looking for revelations, they’re here, including the drug habits which brought the band-members to their knees – but My Life with ‘Deth is far more than just another memoir of debauchery. After bassist and co-founder of the group, David Ellefson beat his addictions and embarked on a path of sobriety and faith in the 1990s, he entered a new arena of Christian thought that continues to inform his work two decades later. In My Life with ‘Deth, David reveals the full, eyeopening details of life in one of the world’s biggest heavy metal bands, with a recurring theme being the struggle between his addiction to heroin, his love of aggressive, extreme metal and his Christian faith. The reader is taken on a gripping journey from his Lutheran upbringing as a Minnesota farm boy, through the culture shock he experienced when he arrived in Los Angeles and entered the record industry, to his victory over addiction and his foundation of Mega Life Ministries, which reaches hundreds of churchgoers every week. Along the way, exclusive interviews with some of the biggest names in American music are detailed, including Kerry King of Slayer, Scott Ian of Anthrax, Alice Cooper, and many others. There are lessons for every reader here, whether religious or nonreligious and regardless of their status as drug abuser, user, or nonuser. Megadeth has sold more than twenty million albums and received eleven Grammy nominations.

LIVE! on TDMS - Devoted Souly to the Art of Music

  • SARAH J. — Recording Artist
This aspiring singer/songwriter from Guelph, Ontario received her first guitar at the age of seven then taught herself the basics. At age thirteen, she developed a greater devotion for music and started singing and writing her own songs, playing in a band called “It Goes Down Tonight” with her friends and schoolmates. Struggling to make it big in a small town, Sarah started promoting herself in the tri-cities of Kitchener-Waterloo and in Toronto; working her way up to play at big venues such as The Sound Academy and The Opera House. In 2009, after performing one evening, Sarah J was invited to attend the SongStudio Songwriter’s Workshop in downtown Toronto, where she was provided the opportunity to play in venues like C’est What and Hugh’s Room where many rising musicians have played before her. Returning to the workshop in 2010, Sarah J was presented with the “Damn Good” Award of Excellence in Songwriting by Rik Emmett and Blair Packham.

    TOPICS

1/ This year's Grammy Awards ended with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis performing their equal rights anthem "Same Love" with Mary Lambert & Madonna. During the song, Queen Latifah officiated the marriages of 33 couples – gay & straight. Kirk Cameron (Mike Seaver from Growing Pains) called the event an "assault on the traditional family" while others are saying “If the church ain't gonna step up and step out, then God bless the Grammys for doing it”. So... how did you feel about the whole thing?

2/ Okay fine! We'll talk about Justin Bieber. (ugh) Probably no need to bring everyone up to speed on his recent trouble with the law, so we'll just ask this: If you had the opportunity to sit down with the Biebs and give him some HELPFUL advice, what would you say? (Of course, we mean OTHER than telling him to Click Here to Read Drew's Article in the Huffington Post :)
