Sylvia accepts reincarnation as a central theme in her philosophy, yet this belief is never forced upon anyone who does not want to hear it. Magus Peter H. Gilmore — High Priest of The Church Of Satan

As stated on their website: “Founded on April 30, 1966 c.e. by Anton Szandor LaVey, we are the first above-ground organization in history openly dedicated to the acceptance of Man’s true nature—that of a carnal beast, living in a cosmos that is indifferent to our existence. To us, Satan is the symbol that best suits the nature of we who are carnal by birth—people who feel no battles raging between our thoughts and feelings, we who do not embrace the concept of a soul imprisoned in a body. He represents pride, liberty, and individualism—qualities often defined as Evil by those who worship external deities, who feel there is a war between their minds and emotions. As Anton LaVey explained in his classic work The Satanic Bible, Man—using his brain—invented all the Gods, doing so because many of our species cannot accept or control their personal egos, feeling compelled to conjure up one or a multiplicity of characters who can act without hindrance or guilt upon whims and desires. All Gods are thus externalized forms, magnified projections of the true nature of their creators, personifying aspects of the universe or personal temperaments which many of their followers find to be troubling. Worshiping any God is thus worshiping by proxy those who invented that God. Since the Satanist understands that all Gods are fiction, instead of bending a knee in worship to—or seeking friendship or unity with—such mythical entities, he places himself at the center of his own subjective universe as his own highest value. We Satanists are thus our own “Gods,” and as beneficent “deities” we can offer love to those who deserve it and deliver our wrath (within reasonable limits) upon those who seek to cause us—or that which we cherish—harm. Magus Gilmore’s essay “What, The Devil?” from The Satanic Scriptures discusses this in greater detail.”

Lenore Wirtz - Brutally Attacked & Stabbed Over 31 Times

Nothing would have ever prepared Lenore for the worst half-hour of her life. She'd only been working at a local clothing shop in Orangeville a couple of weeks and this was her first shift by herself. Then, on July 11th, 2009, with only five minutes left in her shift, a man entered the store and proceeded to strangle her, kick her, and stab her 31 times. Somehow, Lenore had the presence of mind to fake her own death just so the assailant would stop. The man eventually did stop, shut off the lights, lock the front door of the store and left out the back of the building. Laying there hearing the sound of blood leaving her body, Lenore knew that if she didn't at least try to go for help that she would bleed to death. She would never see her three girls or husband again. So with everything she had, Lenore began to get up. However, the man who had so savagely and randomly attempted to murder her hadn't actually left. He'd only gone into the washroom to clean the blood from his hands. When he saw that Lenore was still alive, he came back to finish the job. Somehow - someway - eventually, Lenore found her way to the front door and collapsed on the sidewalk in front of the shop, where she was able to get the attention of a man who called 911. She had only one unit of blood left in her and to this day is called "a walking miracle" by the local police. Today, Lenore and her husband talk about "life after" and how this traumatic event has impacted even their spiritual lives.

Gabrielle Lavallee - Survivor of The Ant Hill Kids Cult

Gabrielle was a member of The Ant Hill Kids, a cult led by Roch Theriault. Gabrielle was forced to endure humiliating torture for years. She was made to smear her face with the excrement that another disciple evacuated on the floor while he was being beaten up. After that, Thériault smashed her nose against the door and ripped her skull open with the door handle. Members of the cult had their pubic hair ripped out, their genitals crushed, some castrated, skulls balded by the handful, black eyes, lacerations, broken ribs, forced enemas, flogging, their vaginal areas burned with a blowtorch, scaldings, and other atrocities we can't mention. Gabrielle assisted Thériault when he decided to operate on a member. He opened her abdomen, cut out a piece of her he deemed unhealthy, then asked his right-hand man to stitch it all up with a knitting needle. After that, the poor girl, who had to endure this hellish operation un-sedated, was commanded to stand up and walk without complaining. The next day this woman was very close to death, but Thériault demanded that she get up as usual. Then, realizing that she actually wasn't well, he made her swallow six eggs, put a mushroom and saliva plaster on the wound, made her take a very hot bath followed by an icy cold one. After all that, he was surprised when she died. The following night, he demanded that the remains be stretched out naked on his bed, and he spent the night alone with her. One night, Gabrielle tried to escape but was caught. She was brought back to the isolated commune, where Thériault pinned her hand to a wooden table with a hunting knife, removed one of her fingers with wire cutters, then amputated her entire arm. Drew was able to track down Gabrielle and she agreed, with some reluctance, to a rare interview in order to clarify exactly what happened during her time in one of Canada's most brutal cults. This week, we follow up with Gabrielle to find out more about her life now - her journey and spiritual recovery.

Tim Wolfe - Gay Christian Blogger

Tim describes himself as "a gay Pentecostal preacher's kid who gratefully managed to survive coming out of the closet with my faith intact. Over the years, I've met dozens of other GLBT friends who were less fortunate. This blog is for them--and tens of thousands like them. I pray that something here will encourage all of us to renew or strengthen our commitment to Christ. This starts by looking to Him for acceptance, not those claiming to speak for Him. Instead of waiting for fellow Christians who reject us to become "gay-friendly," I hope and believe that we can overcome our issues by becoming "straight-friendly" - - loving them as Jesus told us to do."
