Cantor Cheryl Wunch grew up at Temple Har Zion in Thornhill, where she eventually became a Religious School teacher and the Youth Advisor. Cantor Wunch discovered her love for Jewish music as a camper and then staff member at the Goldman Union Camp Institute in Indiana. As a cantorial student, Cantor Wunch led a Birthright Israel trip and participated as a delegate in the Catholic-Jewish Emerging Leader conference in Rome, Italy. Since ordination in 2011 from HUC-JIR in New York, Cantor Wunch worked at Congregation Beth Am in Buffalo Grove, IL and The North Western Reform Congregation (Alyth) in London, UK. She is a member of the American Conference of Cantors, and sits on the ethics committee. Cantor Wunch is passionate about Jewish music, education, and helping people to find modern meaning in our ancient texts.
