  • River Jordan — Author of Praying For Strangers: An adventure of the human spirit
In her latest book, Praying For Strangers, River shares her amazing personal journey as, every day, she reached out with love and concern for people she’d never met. Along the way, River discovered that her prayers not only touched the lives of others (in often amazing ways), but also created a profound experience that would change her own life forever. She found everyone she talked to was thirsty for connection, for human interaction, and the warmth of knowing they were being thought of—even by a stranger. River Jordan is the critically acclaimed author of four novels. A Southerner with a global perspective, she began her writing career as a playwright and spent over ten years with the Loblolly Theatre group. She produces and hosts Clearstory Radio on WRFN-FM in Nashville, where she lives. She is still praying for strangers.

  • The Counsel Of Many!
Need Help or Advice On An Issue In Your Life?
Tell us your situation and Drew will ask the listeners of TDMS!

This week on The Counsel Of Many: A man who has been fighting Cancer for a couple of years just wants to stop fighting and let the Cancer run it's course. However, someone from his church told him recently about a vision they had that he would be healed. Now he doesn't know if he should keep fighting or just sit back and see if God will heal him.

"I'm exhausted. I've tried everything. I'm ready to die. I've been fighting Cancer for just over two years and I am at the point of quitting. The doctors have pretty much killed me a number of times with Chemotherapy, radiation and everything in-between. I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to die within the next six months. My family is supportive of my decision. However, one of the elders from our church pulled me aside a couple of weeks ago and told me he had that God was going to heal me completely. I won't go into too much detail, but now I'm wondering how to respond to this information. Part of me wonders if I should keep up with all the treatments my doctors want me to continue with and part of me wonders if I should just stay resigned to the fact that I'm going to die soon and see if God actually does heal me. I'm not normally this double minded about things. I'm interested to hear what your listeners have to say."
