Special Guests

  • Candace Cameron Bure — Actress (DJ on Full House / Queen of Hallmark) Producer, New York Times’ Bestselling Author, Inspirational Speaker
“The world has a way of defining you if you don’t know who you are before you get out there.” —Candace Cameron Bure

As a woman in today’s world, you know what it’s like to feel pressure on all sides from clashing cultural expectations. How can you stay true to who God has uniquely created you to be in the face of the script you’ve been given? What’s more, how can you stand your ground with grace? The classy confidence you know and love—whether it’s on set at Full House or Fuller House, Dancing with the Stars, The View, or Candace’s Hallmark films—is no act. But it hasn’t come easy. In fact, learning to stay true to herself with grace has been one of the biggest fights of Candace’s life. The secret, she has learned, is kindness: it’s classy, unexpected, even counter-cultural, and ultimately wins the day. In Kind Is The New Classy, Candace reveals the thought patterns and practices that have empowered her to stay centered in who she is while practicing radical graciousness toward others. Whether you’re navigating major life choices, questions of calling and career, relationships, or personal goals, this book will show you how to:

    Keep your cool under pressure
    Respond to criticism with grace
Stay grounded yet go places in life
Stay true to who you are despite the expectations of others
Stay centered in what ultimately matters the most

Kind Is the New Classy is your permission to go off-script, to say goodbye to society’s “should’s” and to step into a new way to flourish as a woman today.

  • Dr. Kristi Funk — Beverly Hills Breast Cancer Surgeon (Angelina Jolie, Sheryl Crow) Author of Breasts: The Owner’s Manual
Breast Cancer: #1 killer of women ages 20–59 / #2 most commonly diagnosed cancer in women
Another statistic – one in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer, and only 20 percent of those diagnosed have a single relative with breast cancer. So, for most of us, family history and genetics DO NOT determine if we will get breast cancer. Dr. Kristi Funk is an expert in minimally invasive diagnostic and treatment methods for all types of breast disease. She believes that between 50 to 90 percent of all breast cancer could be eliminated if women understood that daily choices such as food, drink, exercise, weight, and mind-set create an environment inside the very cells of a woman’s breast that lead them to either stay healthy or turn cancerous. Her mission is to educate as many women as possible about what they can do to reduce the risk of breast cancer before it starts. Long before Dr. Funk performed Angelina Jolie’s widely-discussed double prophylactic mastectomy, she strategized with her about the most effective and honest way to communicate her decision to the world. Their announcement led to a permanent increase in preventive testing for the BRCA gene. This strategy-filled guide to total breast health arms women with the most up-to-date tools for prevention and a compassionate and complete guide to treatment options. Every year, one million cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed globally, with more than 240,000 in the US alone. Breasts: The Owner’s Manual will prevent many women from an unwelcome journey or an untimely death due to breast cancer. *Dr. Kristi Funk is a board-certified breast cancer surgeon and cofounder of the Pink Lotus Breast Center. She has helped thousands of women through breast treatment, including well-known celebrities such as Angelina Jolie and Sheryl Crow. She is the go-to breast care expert for Good Morning America and The Doctors. She is also the founding ambassador of the Pink Lotus Foundation, whose mission is to provide low-income, uninsured, and underinsured women free access to breast cancer screening and care.

  • Suzanne Venker — Columnist, Author, Blogger, Cultural Critic
“Chivalry is dead because women killed it!” / “Men called. They want their balls back.” / “I’d like my woman to start showing her more masculine side. - said no man EVER!” Funny, blunt, and laser-focused on truth, Suzanne Venker has attracted a loyal audience with her writing on marriage and motherhood, sex and dating, feminism and pop culture. A Fox News contributor and nationally recognized expert on America’s gender war, Suzanne has authored five books. Currently, she writes for The Washington Examiner. Her work has also appeared in Time, USA Today, Parents, the New York Post and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch—and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, The Atlantic, The Economist, The Huffington Post and London’s Daily Mail. Suzanne's TV credits include Fox & Friends, STOSSEL, The View, CNN, ABC and more. She has appeared on hundreds of radio shows throughout the country; and her work has been featured on “The Dr. Laura Program,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “The Rush Limbaugh Show.” According to Suzanne, “I don't know everything, but this much I do know: the culture is your enemy. Everything it teaches about the topics above will land the marriage minded woman in a ditch. So if you're rockin' it in your professional life but struggling in your personal life, ask yourself this: Is it possible that how I've been taught to think is the underlying problem? My best guess is yes.” www.suzannevenker.com
