  • Jonas Bendiksen — Author of The Last Testament: The Truth Shall Set You Free
Imagined as a sequel to the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, The Last Testament features visual accounts and stories of seven men around the world who claim to be the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Building on biblical form and structure, chapters dedicated to each Jesus include excerpts of their scriptural testaments, laying out their theology and demands on mankind in their own words. • Deborah Adele — Author of The Yamas & Niyamas: Exploring Yoga's Ethical Practice
The first two limbs of the eight-fold path of yoga sutras—the basic text for classical yoga—are examined in this spiritual guide to the practice of yoga. Foundational to all yogic thought, they are considered to be the guidelines to the yoga way of living that free individuals to take ownership of their lives, direct them toward the fulfillment they seek, and gain the skills to choose attitude, thought, and action. The first five guidelines are referred to as the yamas—a Sanskrit word that translates to "restraints"—and encompass non violence, truthfulness, not stealing, non excess, and non possessiveness. The last five are referred to as the niyamas, or observances—purity, contentment, self-discipline, self-study, and surrender. A self-study section at the end of each chapter may also be used by instructors for group discussion. *Deborah Adele holds master’s degrees in both Liberal Studies and Theology & Religion. An ERYT500, she carries yoga certifications in Kundalini yoga, Hatha yoga, Yoga Therapy, and Meditation. She is also trained as a Gestalt practitioner and a Somatics educator. For over 14 years, Deborah brought her combined knowledge of business and her in-depth knowledge of yoga philosophy to build Yoga North, a now thriving international yoga center.

  • Tom Baker — Author of One Dog's Faith: How My Dog Helped Me Trust in God and Overcome Chronic Worrying
The world is a stressful place. For millions of pet owners, the unconditional love and companionship of dogs offers an escape from daily worries. In the uplifting and inspirational book, One Dog’s Faith, author Tom Baker explores life and faith from a dog’s perspective. By looking at the world through his dog’s eyes, Baker reveals just how much humans can learn from dogs: how to love, how to live in the moment, and how to discover the glory and grace of God. Baker’s six-year-old spaniel mix Mango is a typical dog – she enjoys sticking her head out of the car window, stealing socks, playing fetch and, of course, butt sniffing. When he found himself experiencing chronic worry because his television production company was facing financial doom, Baker began withdrawing from his family and struggling with symptoms of a deep depression. In One Dog’s Faith, he shares an intimate look at how Mango helped him understand that his chronic worry was taking a huge toll on his health and family life. Mango, with the human help of Baker’s wife Michelle, guided him toward finding hope and peace by trusting in God and His divine plan. “So many people in our anxious, paycheck to paycheck, 11-hour work day, microwave, outdo the Joneses, what-about-me society worry about everything. Stop and observe a dog... they don’t think about tomorrow, they enjoy simple blessings, are humble enough to eat off the floor, and love without reserve or limit,” says Baker.
Tom Baker has worked in entertainment, radio and television for over 35 years as a writer, producer, and editor, for various production companies, and has worked on shows for A&E, Discovery, HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, and more. He is currently Executive Producer/Owner of TV production company Cobblestone Entertainment, LLC in Knoxville, TN. Baker is a musician, published author, and public speaker who is very active in his church. He has four children, three rescue dogs (including Mango), a rescue cat and a fish.

  • Florence Williams — Author of The Nature Fix: Why Nature Makes Us Happier, Healthier, And More Creative
For centuries, poets and philosophers extolled the benefits of a walk in the woods: Beethoven drew inspiration from rocks and trees; Wordsworth composed while tromping over the heath; Nikola Tesla conceived the electric motor while visiting a park. Intrigued by our storied renewal in the natural world, Florence Williams sets out to uncover the science behind nature’s positive effects on the brain. From forest trails in Korea, to islands in Finland, to groves of eucalyptus in California, Williams investigates the science at the confluence of environment, mood, health, and creativity. Delving into completely new research, she uncovers the powers of the natural world to improve health, promote reflection and innovation, and ultimately strengthen our relationships. As our modern lives shift dramatically indoors, these ideas—and the answers they yield—are more urgent than ever.

  • Remembering David Mainse
Crossroads (100 Huntley Street) and YES TV founder Rev. David Mainse passed away on September 25, 2017 at 81 years old after a five-year battle with MDS leukemia. Rev. Mainse lived the last years of his life (even while he fought the disease) as he’d lived his entire life: proclaiming the Good News – to any and all who would listen – that Jesus loved them. Even though “Christian TV” never really sat well with Drew, he still had a lot of respect for Canada’s God Guy, David Mainse. Which is why he had him as a guest on the show a couple of times, including his last conversation with Drew on October 10th 2015.
