  • Tullian Tchividjian — Author of Do I Know God? Finding Certainty in Life's Most Important Relationship
In his new book, the once wayward grandson of Billy Graham shares his spiritual "rags to riches" story from his deeply troubled youth to leading the congregation of the New City Presbyterian Church in Coconut Creek, Florida. Tullian is the son of clinical psychologist, Dr. Stephan Tchividjian, Sr. and Gigi (Virginia) Graham, the eldest daughter of Billy and Ruth Graham. Despite his strong Christian heritage and loving home, he chose to live life in South Florida's fast lane. Dropping out of high school at age 16, he was eventually escorted by police off his parents' property and fell into years of club hopping and serious drug abuse. At 21, after hitting rock bottom he finally turned himself over to the family bedrock: Christianity. (His late grandmother, Ruth Bell Graham, even wrote a book about it, Prodigals and Those That Love Them, in which Tullian contributed a chapter.)

Talkback, etc.

  • Is living together really a sin?
Paul and Sue are new to the church, and they express an interest to volunteer and help out. They finally get plugged into a serving position, but it's soon discovered that Paul and Sue aren't married. They've been living together for 5 years. Do you ask them to step down? Are not cohabiting couples as good as married? (We didn't quite get to this one a few weeks ago.)

  • Have you ever thought about having someone end your life should you find yourself incapacitated as a senior citizen?
Twice in the last two months, two different elderly men have taken the lives of an ailing loved one before turning the gun on themselves. Does this anger you or can you sympathize? Have you discussed this with your loved ones? Would you ever seriously consider this as an option? Do you think God would condemn assisted suicide under these circumstances?

  • The Counsel Of Many! Need Help or Advice On An Issue In Your Life? — Tell us your situation and Drew will ask the listeners of TDMS!
This week's story comes from Drew. His daughter's friend is possibly being put into foster care by her mother. He and his wife were wondering if they should consider "adopting" her and how to wisely weigh the pros and cons. Should they just let the system take care of the situation or should they approach the mother and risk sticking their nose in where it doesn't belong? What would you do and what advice would you give to Drew & his wife? "Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety." Proverbs 11:14
